The Ambattur Estate – Mogappair road stretch from Thirumangalam till Wavin has become an important link for vehicles from several areas in Avadi and has heavy traffic congestion. As a safety measure a median has been constructed along the road stretch. The center median will prevent cars and two wheeler riders from taking right and left turns very casually. Specific points are created for pedestrian crossing and for vehicles taking right turns and 'U' turns. The main roads in Ambattur Industrial Estate, have been widened.
This and many other projects aimed at comprehensive development of the estate have been identified by the Chennai Auto Ancillary Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Company (CAAIIUC), a special purpose vehicle.
The company has widen the South Avenue Road, First and Second Main Roads. Ambattur Second Main Road has been developed as a model road, with nearly 4 metre wide footpath, adequate illumination, pedestrian crossing and pay and use toilet.
