New modern bus shelters are been build at many places by the MTC in Chennai city. While at some places new shelters were built at the bus stops, in a few places, they were built away from the stops. The photo shows one such modern bus stop, near 13th Main Road, along Anna Nagar Second Avenue road which hardly serve any purpose and seem to be more like abandoned structure. This shelter built does not serve its purpose. The buses continue to halt at the old bus stop, a few hundred meters away. While welcoming the initiative to construct new modern bus shelters, commuters of Anna Nagar and nearby areas wonder why it was built some distance away. This new, fully-equipped bus shelter still lies unused for a long time. The MTC buses do not stop at the shelter.
