Tree Stump Poses A Safety Hazard!

A stump of a cut down tree is posing a threat to the motorists who are driving towards Padi, along the busy 100 Feet  Road,  near Anna Nagar West bus depot, opposite 18th Main Road signal point. The cut  tree stump poses a safety hazard to motorists, especially at night. Concerned authorities needs to take necessary action to remove the tree stump, so as to ensure free flow of traffic and to avoid accidents.

At several places in Chennai city, there are trees that lean along the road. This reduces the space for the movement of vehicles. These trees have been found to be the cause of accidents, including fatal ones many a time. It is true that many of these trees were a major traffic hazard on heavily trafficked roads and had to be removed for the safety of road users.

Even though trees are cut to ensure safe vehicle movement, the city residents are also concerned about the well being of trees and the city’s green cover.
