The rally’s
main objective was to create awareness among people about the ill effects of
smoking and use of other tobacco based products. In an effort to make the world
tobacco-free, World Health Organisation observes World No Tobacco Day, highlighting
the health risks associated with tobacco use and advocating for effective
policies to reduce tobacco consumption. It is reported that tobacco use is the
single most preventable cause of death globally and is currently responsible
for killing one in 10 adults worldwide.
