The latest book titled “Innovate Happily” by Dr. Rekha Shetty was launched at Landmark store in Citi Center on 7^th December 2012.The book launch was followed by an interactive session with the author. Dr.Rekha Shetty is the Managing Director of Farstar Distribution Network, a unique consultancy company devoted exclusively for innovation and creativity under the brand name Mindspower. 

She is an author, an entrepreneur. Dr.Rekha Shetty was one of Asia’s first women District Governors for Rotary International and was awarded Rotary’s highest Service above Self Award. Dr.Rekha Shetty resides at Anna Nagar East, Chennai-102.

Cancer and Palliative Care Awareness Programme

 Hundreds of Self-help women group members participated in the ‘Breast cancer and palliative care’ awareness program organized by Need Trust, Ashok Nagar at Vani Mahal, T. Nagar. Dr. Republica Sridhar (Cancer and Palliative care specialist and Founder, RMD Palliative Care Trust, T. Nagar) presented a visual presentation on ‘Breast cancer and palliative care’. 

Dr. Republica explained techniques to how to self examination and symptoms of breast cancer and highlighted prevention measures.

A wonderful Music Concert

A wonderful Carnatic vocal concert by Ananya Ashok took place recently at Apparao Galleries, Nungambakkam. Ananya Ashok is a student of renowned violinist, Smt. Anuradha Sridhar, who resides in California, USA. Smt. Anuradha is the daughter and disciple of the eminent violinist Smt. Srimathi Brahmanandam and the niece of the violin maestro Padmabhushan, Lalgudi Sri G. Jayaraman. Ananya has received several prizes at the Cleveland Aradhana festival. 

She was chosen as 'The Best Stage Performer' on Jaya TV’s Carnatic Music Idol USA in 2011. Ananya has performed in various venues around Chennai in the last three years during the music season. She has given several performances in USA and on Indian National Television. Ananya has also been studying Hindustani Vocal Music from renowned violinist, Smt. Kala Ramnath. Ananya is a recipient of the 2011 'Alliance for California Traditional Arts' Fellowship Award. Ananya also hails from a musical family. Ananya’s father, Sri Ashok Subramaniam is a musician and teacher. Ananya is the grand-niece of Sri. K.R. Kumaraswamy and Sri. K.R. Kedaranathan. On her maternal side, her great grandmother is a disciple of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Kallidaikuruchi Vedanta Bhagavatar and Ramalinga Bhagavatar.Ananya Ashok is a budding artist with a captivating voice.

New Year Calendars And Diaries

The sale of TTD calendars and diaries of 2013 began on 7^th December 2012 at TTD, Venkatarnarayana Road, T. Nagar.K. Ananda Kumar Reddy (President, Local Advisory Committee, TTD) told that calendar ranges from Rs. 10, 20 and 75 and a diary is Rs.100.
