Anna Nagar, a residential colony in
the city, was put on the railway network with the opening of a railway station.
The
station was inaugurated on October 2, 2003, with train services running between
Anna Nagar and Beach railway station. Today the railway station has a neglected
look with dirty surroundings.
Many are hoping that the railway authorities
would re-start the train services which were stopped in view of the Padi
flyover.
Till today there are still no positive signs about restarting the
train service from Anna Nagar to Beach station. Let
the Southern Railway authorities take effective measures to re-start the train
service at the earliest for the benefit of the Anna Nagar West residents.
