Needed: Speed-Breakers

A large number of cars, two-wheelers, auto, share-autos and other vehicles are plying fast on the Nelson Manickam Road from Anna Nagar. There are many curves on this road. This is a highly commercial road and  pedestrians have to be careful because of fast plying vehicles.

If speed-breakers are erected wherever necessary, the speed of vehicles can be restricted. The authorities concerned should look into the matter and do the needful.The entire stretch of Nelson Manickam road from Arun Hotel  upto  Loyola College is  extremely congested. 

Vehicles ply from both directions on this road at high speed, thereby posing a threat to the lives of pedestrians. Let the concerned  authorities concerned to put up speed breakers at critical points and consider the feasibility of widening the road as well as constructing footpaths for the pedestrians.

A Common Sight On 13th Main Road

A traffic jam at Anna Nagar  13th Main Road and along Second Avenue Road are common sight. The traffic congestion is due to the ongoing Thirumangalam flyover. Traffic police have a hard time to deal with the traffic snarls which are avoidable. 

The motorists using Inner Ring Road (IRR) will have to bear with more congestion in Thirumangalam but for a good reason. 

The State Highways Department has issued work orders for the construction of a 600m long flyover along IRR, connecting two signals at Anna Nagar II Avenue-IRR and Mogappair Road-IRR junctions. 

A pedestrian subway at Mogappair Road-IRR intersection will also be built as part of the project.

MTC Bus Bay At Lucas-TVS Is Helpful!

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation  bus bay and bus shelter at the Lucas-TVS bus stop at Padi is very helpful for the public. The bus bay prevents traffic snarls share autos from standing in front of the bus stop.The bus bay is exclusively for use by buses of the Metropolitan Transport Corporation. 


The bus bay was created few months ago. The purpose of the bus bay was to help commuters to  board MTC buses easily. If the bus bay has lessened  traffic snarls could be lessened, especially during the morning and evening rush hours.Commuters said that the bus has ease traffic congestion on MTH Road.

The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has  set up a bus bay at many important and busy stops for the convenience of those travelling by bus.
